About the role

Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), now including Project Management Advisors (PMA), is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their Hospitality and Office team in Chicago. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers in the coordination and delivery of hospitality and office development and renovation projects
  • Aid in project planning, design coordination, and pre-construction activities
  • Track project budgets, schedules, and reporting tools to support overall project controls
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings and construction documents
  • Coordinate procurement activities, including design and construction contracts and consultant agreements
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare agendas, take notes, and track action items
  • Maintain project logs, issue lists, and action item tracking to ensure follow-through and accountability
  • Assist in reviewing and documenting potential change orders and budget/schedule impacts
  • Conduct permitting coordination and documentation tracking with design and construction teams
  • Support site visits and field reporting, including observations of construction progress and coordination issues
  • Communicate between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams
  • Assist in project closeout activities, including punch lists, documentation, and final turnover requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in project management, construction, real estate development, or related fields (hospitality and office experience preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Strong interest in real estate development, construction, and project delivery
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based, client-facing environments
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, documents, or project management tools is a plus
