About the role
MSS Fire and Security, LLC is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to contribute fresh and innovative ideas while growing your career. Responsibilities
- Chart project objectives and plans, set performance requirements, and select project participants.
- Optimize resource utilization (labor, materials, equipment) and procure them cost-effectively.
- Coordinate and implement project operations, resolving conflicts among participants.
- Oversee construction projects from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, and resource identification.
- Create teams, define objectives, and assign responsibilities.
- Manage project accounting, including budget tracking, expense management, and risk minimization.
- Ensure construction activities adhere to predetermined schedules.
- Develop and revise project work plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, architects, consultants, sub-contractors, and laborers.
- Monitor construction progress and hold regular status meetings.
- Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct periodic inspections of construction sites.
- Ensure project documents are complete.
- Identify potential design or construction elements that may lead to disputes or claims.
- Serve as a key liaison with clients, reviewing deliverables before submission.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the company.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of Fire, Security, and Camera Systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience preparing and maintaining project schedules using MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Qualifications
- Four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering or a high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project and facilities management.
Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting, occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and gripping.
- Clear speaking and adequate hearing for effective communication in-person and by telephone.
- Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data.
- Repetitive motions for computer equipment use.
Work Environment
- Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, and high noise intensity levels.
- Atmospheric conditions, including exposure to electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Wet and/or humid environments, vibration, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
- Work in high-exposure job sites and/or office environments with conditioned air and bright lights.
