Location: La Salle, IL

Salary Range: $68,250 to $106,000. Final determination of starting pay will vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. About The Role

We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager ready to positively impact a complex construction project. Assistant Project Managers (APM) are key to coordination between the field team, project team, and our customers. You’ll facilitate learning for yourself and others, prepare/drive/document team meetings, and direct the work of Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.

• Lead team meetings and provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.
• Partner with the scheduling department to gather all data required to populate the CEI schedule.
• Identify cost impacts associated with RFIs, submittals, and design changes and provide timely notification.
• Price change orders consistently and in a timely manner for project manager review and approval.
• Manage close-out documents.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with 3rd parties and track/follow up on open items.
• Maintain strong working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate accurate material releases on time and consistent with project documents.
• Track material releases, changes, and coordinate delivery with the construction schedule.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to person to help resolve any issues or potential problem areas.
• Actively think about new ways to improve or change processes.
• Bring innovative and entrepreneurial thinking to a project.
• Provide in-house support to Project Managers such as coordinating, tracking quantities complete for billing, and managing project activities and documentation.

Requirements

• Prior experience working on semi-remote jobsites, supervising others.
• Renewables/Large Electrical/Data Center build experience highly desired.
• Good working knowledge of MS applications including Excel.
• Prior experience in electrical estimating and the ability to accurately estimate change order pricing.
• Experience with Accubid estimating software preferred.
• Scheduling ability with Microsoft Projects and/or Primavera P6 experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Electrical Code and Civil Construction.

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: None required.
• Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience specifically as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or MEP experience in general contracting. Minimum five (5)+ years of related experience, including some time managing smaller projects.
• Driving Record: Valid state-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
