About the role
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) at Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) plays a key role in coordination between the field team, project team, and customers. They are expected to maintain exceptional working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors, assist in the review and tracking of project activities, and lead team meetings.
Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptional working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Facilitate learning for yourself and others, prepare/drive/document team meetings, and direct the work of Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.
- Lead team meetings and provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.
- Partners with scheduling department to gather all data required to populate CEI schedule.
- Identifies cost impacts associated with RFIs, submittals, and design changes and provides timely notification.
- Prices change orders consistently and in a timely manner for project manager review and approval.
- Manages close out documents.
- Coverage of commissioning activities with third-party.
- Tracks and follows up on open items.
- Coordinates accurate material releases on time and consistent with project documents.
- Track material releases, changes and coordinate delivery with construction schedule.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.
- Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience specifically as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or MEP experience in general contracting. Minimum five (5)+ years of related experience, including some time managing smaller projects.
- Licensure/Certifications: None required.
- Driving Record: Valid state-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
