Pay
Salary Range: $98,000 to $115,000. Final determination of starting pay will vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. The Energy Team
Our Energy Group builds projects from the field to the grid, including solar, battery storage, substations, EV charging, microgrids, and converter stations. We work on programs of all sizes and are dedicated to environmental responsibility. We’ve built some of the nation’s largest utility-scale solar plants and installed more EV charging stations in California than any other contractor.
About the Role
We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager to positively impact complex construction projects. Assistant Project Managers (APM) coordinate between the field team, project team, and customers, maintaining strong partnerships with vendors and subcontractors. You’ll assist in reviewing and tracking project activities, including RFPs, change orders, submittals, and logs.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and document team meetings, directing the work of Project Engineers and Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.
- Partner with the scheduling department to gather data for CEI schedules.
- Identify cost impacts associated with RFIs, submittals, and design changes, providing timely notification.
- Price change orders consistently and promptly for Project Manager review and approval.
- Manage close-out documents and coordinate commissioning activities with third parties.
- Track and follow up on open items, maintaining strong vendor and subcontractor relationships.
- Coordinate accurate material releases on time, consistent with project documents.
- Track material releases, changes, and coordinate delivery with the construction schedule.

Supervision
Normally receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
About You
You bring innovative and entrepreneurial thinking, with prior experience supervising or guiding others. Strong technical knowledge and communication skills are vital. You have experience providing in-house support to Project Managers, such as coordinating, tracking quantities for billing, and managing project activities and documentation. A willingness to learn and improve processes is key.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.
- Three or more years of experience as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or MEP experience in general contracting.
- Minimum five years of related experience, including managing smaller projects.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
