Assistant Project Manager-Data Center-MEP Projects
Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will assist the Project Manager in managing the project life cycle process on assigned projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Aid in project pricing, budgeting, and estimating.
- Manage subcontractors/vendors and project schedules.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment through safety meetings and incident investigations.
- Support project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle.
- Participate in operation, corporate, and departmental meetings.
- Prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings.
- Contribute to monthly reports and cost reviews, addressing deviations from plan or schedule.
- Assist with preparing change orders, project documentation, and project close-out, including commissioning requirements.
- Participate in all aspects of the project life cycle to meet project goals and develop career skills.
Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by coordinating safety meetings, incident investigations, and maintaining employee involvement.
Responsible for assisting project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle.
Work with the Project Manager to ensure proper planning and management of the installation of HVAC and plumbing to ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
Participate in operation, corporate, and departmental meetings, as required to successfully execute the project and/or departmental goals.
Assist the Project Manager in preparations of vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings to reflect contract drawings, specifications, and estimates.
Actively participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, capturing deviations from plan or schedule.
Working with the project team in order to bring the project in on time and under budget.
Assist the Project Manager as needed with estimating change orders, project documentation, and project close-out, including commissioning requirements.
Participate in all facets of the project life cycle to ensure project goals are met; while developing a skillset to progress one's career in the mechanical industry.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.
- 0-2 years' experience in the industry.
- Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- PREFERRED:
- Experience in processing submittals.
- Experience in heavy commercial construction.
- Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination.
Travel Requirements
40-60% of time will be spent traveling to job sites/offices.
Physical Activities
- Climbing stairs.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Environmental Conditions
- Quiet environment.

- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
Pay Range
USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Hr.
