Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction
Kelley Construction is a multi-faceted commercial and industrial general contractor licensed to perform work across the United States. We specialize in commercial construction including restaurants, medical facilities, warehousing, fast food chains, large design-build expansions, and general office renovation. Our industrial expertise covers liquid storage, petroleum-related construction, pre-engineered metal buildings, and concrete construction.
About the role
Provides technical information to company supervision and specialty contractors to ensure the project complies with all construction standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions. Reviews, analyzes, and resolves field construction problems, discrepancies, and interferences with architect/engineer, owner, and/or specialty contractors.
Responsibilities
- Prepare submittal packages.
- Participate in the construction bidding process.
- Create and provide accurate and timely estimates of specific scopes of work.
- Interpret design documents to facilitate problem solutions.
- Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences, and errors/omissions.
- Monitor field work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes.
- Maintain accurate as-built documents and contract documents.
- Research and prepare change requests to resolve design issues for approval.
- Manage document control, including RFIs, submittals, agreements, and project expediting lists using management systems.
- Attend and actively participate in project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings.
- Coordinate periodic job-related photographs for records.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by supervision.
Requirements
- Four-year construction degree (Bachelor's Degree).
- Knowledge of construction codes.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
- Proficiency in construction software management tools (e.g., Timberline) or ability to learn.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability to read plans.
Physical Demands
- Ability to focus and perform detailed estimating and paperwork tasks for long durations.
- Sitting and standing in an office environment.
- Ability to walk large job sites and buildings at every phase of construction.

$55,000.00 - $75,000.00
