About the role
J.F. Sobieski Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager for its Mechanical Construction Division. Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager and ensure projects stay within budget
- Act as a liaison between the general contractor, general manager, and superintendents
- Generate reports tracking project progress and reporting findings to the Project Manager
- Process change orders and bill for all work performed on time
- Aid in material ordering, delivery, and communication of any challenges impacting project timelines
- Evaluate the contractual scope of work before project commencement
- Order materials needed for project completion in a timely manner
- Establish strong relationships within the Sobieski teams, general contractor, and other contractors involved in the project
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or architecture OR associate degree with equivalent work-related experience
- 0-3 years of direct project experience in the construction industry
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, including their design, architecture, interoperability with other proprietary systems, sequences of operation, networking, and communication methodology
- Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Spitfire
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, and Visio
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Tenacity to get things done on time and a desire to learn Project Management
Qualifications
- Project management professional (PMP)
- Civil Engineering Quality Control (USACE CQM-C)
- OSHA 30 certification
