Key Responsibilities
- Aid in planning and scheduling construction activities to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and execution.
- Support project cost tracking and ensure expenditures align with the approved budget.
- Aid in preparing and reviewing change orders and vendor/subcontractor invoices.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, daily logs, and progress reports.
- Distribute regular updates to stakeholders.
- Monitor project sites to ensure construction meets design specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and address potential issues or deviations promptly.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in safety meetings and audits as required.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the project manager.
- Facilitate communication between field teams and office staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in highway or heavy construction, with exposure to project management tasks.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, B2W, Vista, HeavyJob) and general office applications.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, such as OSHA guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DOT (Department of Transportation) projects.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or construction safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour).
Working Conditions
Combination of office and fieldwork; must be comfortable working on active construction sites. May require occasional travel to project locations.
