Assistant Project Manager
About the role
The Assistant Project Manager will support SJE's Revere brand, a leading provider of automation and control solutions for various industries. Key responsibilities include project planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, as well as managing customer expectations and relationships.
Responsibilities
- Aid Project Engineering teams for all aspects of projects, including planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects to quality standards, within customer expectations and company objectives.
- Assist in the management of projects for your assigned division, providing project deliverables to customers on schedule and within budget requirements.
- Maintain ongoing customer interface to keep customers informed and enhance client relations.
- Aid Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Division Management, and Project Engineering Teams in project management activities.
- Support projects for your division's clients in the assigned work area, including planning, designing, and preparing project plans related to your specific industry.
- Assist Project Engineering Personnel with project implementation.
- Learn and use Project Management Tools, Policies and Procedures.
- Understand Contract Terms and Conditions and their impact on project implementation.
- Assist with the management of customer expectations and relationships (Customer, Contractor and Consulting Engineer).
- Provide input to the development and updating of project schedules.
- Aid with tracking costs and maintaining project budgets.
- Aid with developing schedule of values and project plans.
- Identify and monitor project dependencies to ensure project deliverables stay on time, on-target, and on-budget.
- Assist with coordinating project tasks and interfacing with other departments.
- Ensure safety measures and procedures through the execution of the project.
- Aid with developing change order estimates and proposals.
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
- Identify and coordinate responsibilities to project teams and monitor their progress.
- Minimize project rework and promote greater project success.
- Monitor and summarize progress of the projects to customers and to management.
- Update project forecasts monthly.
- Identify new business opportunities and refer to the sales department.
- Aid the sales departments in the quotation and estimating process.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project management or engineering.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Experience with contract terms and conditions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
