About the role

PEPL has been engaged to place a career motivated, recent engineering graduate to join our client as an Assistant Project Manager (APM). You’ll be learning from the best and be embedded in real project workflows from day one, with a clear, structured path toward becoming a Project Manager. If you're looking for a company that will genuinely invest in your career — mentorship, hands-on training, professional development (including supporting educational costs of a Masters program), and a defined growth trajectory — this is built for you.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination of commercial mechanical projects
  • Track project schedules, submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders
  • Help prepare and maintain project budgets, cost reports, and forecasts
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers on material procurement and delivery timelines
  • Attend job site walks and progress meetings alongside the PM to learn field coordination
  • Review shop drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals for accuracy
  • Support close-out documentation: O&M manuals, warranties, as-builts, and punch lists
  • Maintain project files, logs, and documentation in company project management software
  • Assist with estimating and takeoffs on smaller projects or change order work as skills develop
  • Communicate professionally with clients, engineers, architects, and field crews

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management (2025/2026 graduates welcome)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job site visits

Skills

  • Strong interest in commercial construction, HVAC/mechanical systems, or the built environment
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable with numbers and technical drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel especially); willingness to learn construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Sage, or similar)
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn
  • Ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings and specifications (or willingness to learn quickly)
  • No prior industry experience required — we'll train the right person

Benefits

  • Mentorship
  • Hands‑on training
  • Professional development (including support for educational costs of a Masters program)
  • Defined growth trajectory toward Project Manager
