Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the project team by providing communication, coordination, and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Maintain ongoing training and mentoring of the project team.
  • Report directly to senior management and provide ongoing project information and reviews as required.
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
  • Ensure scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by senior management, project participants, and the client.
  • Determine controls and maintain overall project and discipline schedules and budgets.
  • Track schedule and budget progress with project milestones and take necessary actions to keep the project on track.
  • Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget, and/or schedule.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the client, adjusting as necessary to comply with clients' needs within contractual obligations.
  • Follow and ensure conformance with OHLA USA, Caltrans, and Union Pacific policies and procedures, including safety policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field/equivalent experience.
  • Heavy Civil Construction background with 7+ years of field experience.
  • Experience managing multiple Project Engineers.
  • 30-hour CALOSHA certificates required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to function as a team builder/player.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Previous grade separation project experience in Southern California required.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00 per year to USD $150,000.00 per year. Note that the salary range listed is specific to the role in California and may vary based on factors such as experience, education, and performance.

Work Environment

The work environment involves accessing all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
