About the role

The MPS Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing administrative and construction support to the Program Management team. This role offers opportunities for career growth and involvement in high-profile projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and project meeting minutes.
  • Supervise and direct overall project activities as assigned by the Head of Programs.
  • Create and issue subcontractor contracts.
  • Create and timely deliver owner and maintenance manuals.
  • Maintain change order, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs.
  • Monitor project quality control plan and ensure it is being followed.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for manuals.
  • Ensure the warranty log is up to date.
  • Represent the company/project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc.
  • Assist field personnel and monitor contractor activities.
  • Create job information sheets and establish job files.
  • Assume project supervision responsibilities in Program Manager's absence.
  • Prepare price change orders and project reports and documentation.
  • Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a construction-related role.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management.
  • Ability to identify and meet customer expectations and requirements.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing requirements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player.
  • Professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.

Schedule

General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. Noise level is usually low to medium.
