Job Responsibilities
- Aid the project team in managing internal and external engineering teams including multi-trade engineering coordination and shop drawing review
- Estimating, budgeting, and writing proposals
- Understanding contracts and contractual scope
- Planning and scheduling including short-term interval scheduling of various crafts
- Managing material, equipment, tools, information, and subcontractors on each job
- Procuring material, equipment, and subcontractors
- Controlling costs (internal accounting system, change orders, etc)
- Ensuring quality and performance
- Communicating with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners
- Supporting field crews during start-up, commissioning, and owner training
- Mentoring and developing co-ops
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering, technology, or building construction or equivalent business management degree with a focus on construction or engineering and 1-2 years of project management experience overseeing technicians working with mechanical systems
- If no degree, a minimum of 5+ years of internal experience working with plumbing, piping, or HVAC systems in the office or the field
- PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software

Preferred Requirements
- Demonstrated successful experience in the construction industry
- Two years of experience managing mechanical work
- Strong business acumen (entrepreneurship counts)
- Knowledge of account management (managing multiple customers)
- Leadership exposure (conferences, training, etc.)
