About the role
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) assists the Project Manager in managing field operations and supports all aspects of project delivery. Key responsibilities include analyzing bids, establishing budgets, managing subcontractors, and maintaining project safety.
Responsibilities
- Analyze original Bid and complete Re-Bid process
- Establish project budget by assigning cost codes and creating FLS
- Determine Scope of Work and complete Submittals
- Buy-out project by creating master purchase order and putting materials out to bid
- Manage Scope of Work subcontracts and solicit bids
- Manage subcontractor labor by collecting and awarding subcontracts, managing billings, and overseeing labor reports
- Identify and procure project equipment
- Develop project plan and communicate with senior management and clients
- Create and update Project Safety Plans (PSP)
- Mobilize project by completing site inspections and arranging for supplies
- Conduct foreman briefings and jobsite visits
- Monitor and coach field personnel on safety requirements
- Perform quality assessments and manage client relations
- Manage project document and change order documentation
- Manage client expectations and anticipate potential disputes
- Manage project budget and profitability
- Demobilize project by scheduling and monitoring material and equipment removal
- Conduct project debrief meetings
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2–5 years of experience managing projects within the commercial carpentry industry, or an equivalent combination of an Associate's degree and relevant work experience
- Proficiency with PCs and ability to learn new software programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related concentration preferred
- Project Management Certification with 3+ years’ experience managing commercial carpentry projects preferred
- 5+ years’ experience within the commercial carpentry field preferred
- Working experience using construction accounting programs preferred
- Proficiency with various project management software preferred

Pay
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
