About the role

The Assistant Project Manager works closely with the Project Team to develop bid packages and estimates, schedule preconstruction and construction phases, and identify milestones and durations throughout the project.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with managing construction projects throughout the construction process and until the accounting project closes (s).
  • Aids in the planning, designing, executing, and closing each assigned project.
  • Supports the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager.
  • Coordinates preconstruction stages, including participation in job walks and plan distribution to subcontractors.
  • Prepares budgets and estimates for all design stages from conceptual through final construction documents, planning and designating project resources, and monitoring progress.
  • Develops estimating bid packages.
  • Schedules through preconstruction and construction phases while identifying milestones and durations.
  • Develops master schedules, project timelines, and milestones and identifies long-lead items and other needs.
  • Participates in the award process and preparation of subcontract agreements.
  • Updates weekly schedules for all current and prospective projects to clients and the Company team.
  • Acquires all required permits.
  • Verifies inspection schedules and reports.
  • Prepares weekly customer update reports for the client(s) and Company.
  • Assembles backup documentation for subcontractor and owner change orders.
  • Supports on-site relations with the clients, facility representatives, subcontractors, and city officials.
  • Works safely, both for self-protection and for the protection of co-workers, by supporting all Company safety efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years’ experience with related project management experience or equivalent.
  • Degree in construction management or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success with measurable achievements and leadership roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the project.
  • Proficiency in scheduling during preconstruction and construction phases, including identifying estimated milestones and durations throughout the project.
  • Experience with projects in the retail, fast-casual dining, quick-service dining, and hospitality sectors is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Proficient with computers and familiar with Microsoft software suite.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Experience with CMiC, PlanGrid, and Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Identifies a need, removes barriers, and has the know-how to make things happen.

  • Good common sense and applied logic.
  • Must possess (or obtain) an appropriate state driver’s license before employment, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

  • Education: Degree in construction management or a related field preferred.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in scheduling, ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications, proficiency with computers and Microsoft software suite, experience with Microsoft Project, experience with CMiC, PlanGrid, and Bluebeam.

Pay

Cirks Construction Inc. (CCI), dba KDC Construction, offers a competitive salary/hourly range of $66,776 - $82,845 – while considering the candidate’s experience and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.

Schedule

Full-time position.
