Assistant Project Manager

About the role

Assistant Project Manager – Construction General Contractor – Greater Milwaukee, WI. The position supports Project Managers in planning and executing construction projects from tender through substantial completion, handling budget tracking, schedule updates, change orders, coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, and maintaining project documentation and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in the planning and execution of projects from tender through substantial completion.
• Assist with budget tracking, schedule updates, and change order processing.
• Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Attend site meetings, take minutes, and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Support compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in maintaining client relationships through clear and timely communication.
• Help identify and escalate project risks to the Project Manager as needed.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in construction project management or a related role.
• Exposure to managing or assisting on commercial or multi‑unit construction projects.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, contracts, and project delivery.
• Familiarity with Procore, MS Project, or similar project management tools.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Pay

Salary: $80,000 – $95,000 per year.
