About the role
The onsite Program Management team in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced and collaborative Assistant Project Manager – Capital Improvement Program to support a multi-billion-dollar airport capital redevelopment program. The redevelopment involves constructing a new facility in place of existing terminal and concourses at O’Hare International Airport, which will remain operational during the construction phase.
Responsibilities
- Manage the appointed consultants' design team
- Partner with client representatives
- Manage client's contractors
- Support the Project Manager with stakeholder coordination, interface management, design and construction oversight, value engineering, reporting, problem solving, risk assessments, preparation of presentation materials, and day-to-day project and technical management
- Prepare project details in various phases
- Provide technical support to the Project Manager with design project delivery methods, contract packages, and project execution plans
- Interface projects with the Diversity Equity and Inclusion team
- Aid in the design of multi-discipline projects
- Assist with the technical review of design and construction documents
- Develop the project schedule and design and soft costs
- Prepare Task Order Service Request documentation for assigned projects
- Support resolution or responses to Requests for Information
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction
- 4+ years’ experience as an Assistant Project Manager at an Architecture, Engineering, Environmental, or Construction organization
- Experience as an Assistant Project Manager on projects with a minimum construction value of $50 million
- Related design and construction project management experience with building projects, both renovation and new construction
- Working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationship building
- Ability to work onsite full time at O’Hare International Airport with the program management team
Qualifications
- Experience leading vertical design and construction projects
- Experience working on Aviation project management teams
- Experience working on alternate delivery contracts
- PMP, DBIA Professional, Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect license/certification

Pay
$92,000.00 to $135,000.00 base salary range
