About the role
The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in various tasks including but not limited to:
- Soliciting subcontractors & vendors during the bidding process
- Preparing bid analysis
- Managing subcontractor submittal agreements
- Coordinating the RFI process
- Communicating with municipalities for necessary permits
- Completing routine permit requests
- Managing closeout and turn-over procedures
- Ensuring warranty requests and maintenance documents are included in the database
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in the solicitation of subcontractors & vendors during the bidding process
- Aid in preparing the bid analysis
- Own the subcontractor submittal agreement process
- Coordinate the RFI process and related documents
- Assist the Project Manager in the initiation, coordination, and supervision of all communications with municipalities
- Complete site reports during weekly site visits
- Manage routine permit requests
- Oversee closeout and turn-over procedures
- Ensure all necessary documents for warranty requests and maintenance are included in the database
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in the construction industry, or a 4-Year degree in Construction Management or similar field
- Knowledge of multi-family construction methods and materials
- Understanding of industry methods for scheduling, bidding, estimating, contracting, cost reporting, safety, and quality
- Proficiency in MS Software applications such as MS Office, Excel, and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and individually to solve problems and find appropriate solutions
- Capable of building positive relationships with all project stakeholders
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in the construction industry with emphasis on experience in multi-family construction required
- 4-Year degree in Construction Management or similar field preferred
- Knowledge of industry methods for scheduling, bidding, estimating, contracting, cost reporting, safety, and quality
- Proficiency in MS Software applications such as MS Office, Excel, and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and individually to solve problems and find appropriate solutions
