About the role
Assistant Project Managers at IMC Construction play a key role in keeping projects organized and moving forward. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to support all phases of a project, from preconstruction through closeout. Responsibilities
- Support project execution from post-bid through closeout, ensuring alignment between scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations.
- Assist the project team in driving coordination across internal teams and trade partners.
- Work with Estimating and Project Management to support bid packaging, scope review, and the buyout process; ensure subcontractor scopes are complete and coordinated to avoid gaps or overlaps.
- Assist in developing and tracking project budgets, monitoring cost performance, and supporting change management efforts.
- Help review subcontractor invoices and contribute to the preparation of owner pay applications.
- Assist in maintaining the project schedule in collaboration with the Superintendent and Project Manager; coordinate materials, trades, and project logistics to keep work progressing as planned.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal team members; communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal interactions.
- Work with field leadership and Safety to uphold IMC’s “Safety First” culture; support the implementation and consistent execution of project-specific safety plans.
- Support day-to-day project activities, take initiative, stay organized, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in commercial construction.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience supporting RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Primavera/P6, TimberScan, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification.
- LEED experience.
