Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage smaller projects or assigned scopes within larger projects, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking
- Execute buyout activities for assigned scopes, including soliciting quotes, negotiating routine vendor pricing, and issuing purchase orders
- Prepare and review submittals; coordinate technical content with the engineering team
- Draft RFIs and coordinate responses among the field, engineering, and design teams
- Price routine change orders and T&M tickets for Project Manager review
- Avoidance of cost overrun through proactive cost management and regular review of labor and material costs
- Aid the Project Manager with monthly forecasts and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
- Maintain project schedules under PM direction and identify schedule slippage early
- Coordinate day-to-day activities with subcontractors; review subcontractor pay applications
- Drive project closeout, including Owner-Operator Coordination (OAC), warranties, and owner training scheduling
- Mentor Project Coordinators on assigned projects
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and progressive industry experience (typically 5+ years in lieu of a degree)
- 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, coordination, or field engineering
- Experience in commercial mechanical or HVAC contracting
