About the role
Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Facilities Sector. This role is ideal for a hands-on, process-minded individual who can coordinate small capital projects, tenant improvements, and minor construction activities while working directly with trades, vendors, and campus stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide design oversight, technical and administrative support during the preconstruction phase, construction phase and closeout phase.
- Responsible for project document control, circulating, receiving, tracking, and maintaining organized document files, i.e. Review plans, meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, ASIs, schedules, etc.
- Responsible for management of review comments from stakeholders, i.e. circulating design documents for review, collecting review comments, compiling, vetting, tracking, etc. to ensure issues are addressed.
- Aid with change order management. The APM shall be able to independently review change order requests for merit and fair pricing and prepare change orders for processing.
- Manage the closeout and turn over process.
- Aid to prepare project files for CSU system audit at project completion.
- Site conditions verification and support as needed.
- Responsible for setting up meetings as needed, note taking and follow-up.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or any related field
- 7+ years minimum experience in the construction industry as a project engineer or similar, including major capital projects
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude
- Ability to independently review change order requests for merit and fair pricing and prepare change orders for processing
- Ability to prepare project files for CSU system audit at project completion
Preferred
- Institutional/Higher Ed experience preferred but not required
- CSU experience is a plus but not required
- Experience working for a general contractor on large construction projects is a plus

Pay
Salary range: $135K to $150K/yearly

Full-time, 6-9 months assignment
