About the role
Contracting Specialists Incorporated is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Restoration Services Business Line. This position reports to our office location in North Attleboro, MA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in the day-to-day management of concrete and masonry restoration projects.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to gather technical data and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, quality assurance, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Track project materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain efficient workflow.
- Assist in preparing estimates, take offs, and proposals during the pre-construction phase.
- Document project updates, change orders, and issues that arise during construction.
- Help ensure that all work meets historical preservation standards and local building codes.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with field personnel to resolve technical issues and support effective communication between the field and office.
Minimum Qualifications
- Familiarity with restoration techniques, materials, and historical preservation guidelines is preferred.
- Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and historical documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site as needed and travel to project locations.
- OSHA 30.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
Additional Qualifying Factors
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results.
- If applicable to the contract, obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
Necessary Physical Requirements
- Ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients.
- Maintain physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.
- Must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
- Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
