Contracting Specialists DC, LLC is expanding its workforce and is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Restoration Services Business Line. This position will support Project Mangers in the day-to-day management of concrete and masonry restoration projects.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in the day-to-day management of concrete and masonry restoration projects.
- Aid in preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to gather technical data and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, quality assurance, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Track project materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain efficient workflow.
- Aid in preparing estimates, take-offs, and proposals during the pre-construction phase.
- Document project updates, change orders, and issues that arise during construction.
- Ensure that all work meets historical preservation standards and local building codes.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with field personnel to resolve technical issues and support effective communication between the field and office.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in construction, preferably in concrete restoration, historic masonry, or similar specialties.
- Familiarity with restoration techniques, materials, and historical preservation guidelines is preferred.
- Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and historical documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site as needed and travel to project locations.
Qualifications

- This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients.
- Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.
- If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
- Maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
