Assistant Project Manager
About the role

The Assistant Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting Brady's contracting project manager(s), assisting in the day-to-day tasks involved in development, pricing, planning, and execution of projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables.
- Prepare project close documents at project completion.
- Create Microsoft Project schedules as needed.
- Perform take-offs of drawings.
- Oversee the submittal review and approval process.
- Manage multiple tasks and follow up with both internal and external customers.
- Create operation and maintenance manuals for Contracting Project Managers.
- Assist Project Managers in obtaining pricing for all materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Work with Project Managers to ensure all materials and equipment are ordered and scheduled to arrive prior to the project start date.
- Pull all permits prior to starting the project and schedule inspections after project completion.
- Assist with communication to vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, and customers.
- Schedule meetings for projects and project updates.
- Work with Retrofit Project Managers for quoting light commercial unit replacements.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required.
- Familiarity with the operation of Energy Management Systems, HVAC Systems, and/or Temperature Controls.

- Immediately address any customer concerns and request the involvement of other company personnel as required.

- Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to your Team Leader.
- Notify Manager or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervise contracting field personnel in the Contracting Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Requirements
- One-year certificate from college or technical school.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Working knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft Office products.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications.
- Valid driver's license.
Skills
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, and equipment specifications. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and other service personnel.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
