Assistant Project Manager
About the role
The Assistant Project Manager will develop under senior leadership to ultimately be responsible for estimating, scheduling, procurement, and management of specific projects within electrical distribution. This role requires strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, due to involvement in financial aspects of the projects. Initially, you will work from home, transitioning to the Baton Rouge office once it is ready. You will shadow distribution crews to understand daily operations and handle customer interactions within the first few months.
Responsibilities
- Assist in estimating, scheduling, procurement, and management of projects
- Utilize strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, for project financial aspects
- Shadow distribution crews to learn daily operations
- Transition from remote work to the Baton Rouge office once it is established
- Engage with customers after adequate training
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in project management and construction management
- Experience in utility distribution, schedule, budget, and cost analysis
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Finance or cost experience in utility projects
- Construction Management degree
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Recent graduate in Construction Management is ideal
- Any project financial reporting experience is a plus
Work Environment
The position starts with remote work transitioning to a newly acquired office space in Baton Rouge's Industriplex area. The company is expanding from 130 field employees to 300, planning to hire over 40 individuals in the coming months. You will shadow distribution crews occasionally to gain comprehensive business knowledge. As this is a salaried position, it includes vacation and holiday benefits, and access to a company vehicle after assignment completion.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $60,000.00 – $75,000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
