Job Overview

Jennings H. Mitchell and Son Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to support their growing portfolio of commercial construction projects. Ideal for candidates with 2-3 years of field or office experience, this role offers opportunities to grow into a Project Manager role.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with coordination of day-to-day drywall and framing construction activities.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Help prepare project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to facilitate project milestones.
  • Conduct site walks to verify progress aligns with drawings and schedules.
  • Aid in project budgeting, estimating, and billing support.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control protocols and safety regulations.
  • Attend project meetings and document important action items, decisions, and updates.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial construction (preferably drywall and framing).
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Onscreen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or Buzzbid.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Schedule
