Position Value Proposition
Core Responsibilities
- Facilitate detailing RFI process by preparation and submission of formal RFI’s to the customer.
- Fulfills project related documentation efforts and duties as may be required.
- Distributes and routes drawings.
- Partners with Document Control to avoid delays and maintain logs.
- Acts as a liaison between shop, field, and detailers to resolve fabrication and erection difficulties.
- Maintains daily communication with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Sr. Project Manager or Vice President on progress of areas of responsibility.
- Aids in monitoring project schedules regarding submittals, approvals, and shop fabrication releases.
- Identifies and communicates possible delays or problems to project management team.
- Aids the Project Management Team in achieving successful project results.
- Coordinates the detailing efforts of various common subcontractors.
Specialized Knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret shop and design drawings.
- General understanding and knowledge of basic drafting skills, 3D modeling software/Tekla practices, fabrication and erection standards, standard technical terminology, technical writing skills, common structural steel practices, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination.
Education/Training
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in coordination of structural steel projects preferred but not required.
Work Environment
- Position requires a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.
- Working long days including evenings and weekends may occasionally be required.
- May require out of state air/road travel as needed.
- Requires a clean driving record with a current and valid driver’s license and proof of acceptable insurance.
- Generally indoors in a climate controlled office, but may require visits to outdoor plant facilities and/or jobsites.
- Travel time is up to 25%.
