Assistant Program Manager, Capacity Planning

As the Assistant Program Manager (APM) for Capacity Planning, you will execute the full Discovery-to-BAU cycle for capacity planning under the oversight of the Program Manager, serving as the primary builder of capacity planning models across Amazon Travel & Events. This role combines project management expertise with analytical capabilities to deliver validated models that support workforce planning and operational efficiency.
You will conduct comprehensive scope assessments, design and execute time study analyses, facilitate stakeholder working sessions, and construct detailed capacity planning models that enable data-driven workforce decisions across the organization.

This position requires you to balance multiple concurrent initiatives across 4–8 week build cycles, coordinating between technical data teams and operational stakeholders while maintaining rigorous documentation and project tracking.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in capacity planning, operations, or a business management role with a strong analytical focus and demonstrated experience with workforce analytics or staffing models in a dynamic operational environment
- Advanced proficiency in Excel including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and scenario analysis with ability to build sophisticated capacity planning calculations
- Experience conducting time studies, scope assessments, or structured process analysis with understanding of how to measure task effort and translate findings into workforce models
- Working understanding of project management methodologies and how cross-functional initiatives are scoped and executed with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities across 4–8 week build cycles
- Experience with BI tools such as QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI with ability to engage effectively on dashboard requirements and data visualization needs
- Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups, translating data and analysis into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with comfort presenting findings and recommendations to leadership and operational teams
- Strong time management and deadline-driven work ethic in a fast-paced environment with proactive communication style and strong follow-through on commitments
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Project Management, Operations Management, or related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating analytical and project management capabilities
