Assistant Program Director - Bilingual (Spanish)

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners
  • Serve as a bilingual liaison, providing oral and written communication with families in both English and Spanish
  • Conduct regular outreach to families regarding attendance, academic progress, school engagement, after-school participation, and available community resources
  • Develop and implement family engagement initiatives that strengthen school-home partnerships and promote student success
  • Assist families in accessing community resources, social services, and educational supports
  • Coordinate referrals to internal and external support services as appropriate
  • Foster culturally responsive practices that encourage meaningful family participation
  • Conduct attendance outreach through phone calls, emails, letters, text messages, and home visits
  • Monitor attendance trends and collaborate with school staff to develop intervention strategies
  • Assist with student mentoring, case management support, and follow-up services as assigned
  • Aid in the day-to-day management of Community School and 21CCLC after-school program
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, attendance records, and participant information
  • Perform timely and accurate data entry using program databases and student information systems to track enrollment, attendance, family engagement activities, and program outcomes
  • Prepare reports and assist with collecting documentation for grant compliance and organizational reporting
  • Monitor inventories and assist with ordering program materials and supplies
  • Support compliance with organizational, DOE, and funder requirements
  • Coordinate and support school-wide events, workshops, family nights, resource fairs, field trips, and community engagement activities
  • Lead and co-facilitate workshops and presentations in both English and Spanish
  • Assist with event logistics, including scheduling, vendor and community partner communication, registration, room setup, volunteer coordination, transportation, refreshments, materials, incentives, and day-of-event operations
  • Create promotional materials and conduct outreach to maximize participation and program enrollment
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations to expand resources and opportunities for students and families

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required
  • Experience working in a Community School, 21st CCLC program, after-school program, youth development, family engagement, or related educational setting preferred
  • Experience planning and facilitating family workshops, parent engagement initiatives, and school/community events
  • Experience with data entry, database management; familiarity with student information systems is preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
