About the role

This position works under the supervision of the Campus Program Director of the Vocational Nursing Program. Assists the Director in planning, developing, managing, and evaluating all aspects of the VN Program.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares data and written materials for state and Board reports, proposals, self-studies, and site visits
  • Identifies and secures outside resources for the nursing program
  • Affirms clinical agencies for suitability and ensures Facility Approval Applications are completed before rotations begin
  • Ensures timely completion of student theory and clinical evaluations by faculty
  • Maintains evaluations from students, clinical sites, and faculty after each rotation
  • Supports strategic planning and continuous improvement of program quality and instruction
  • Ensures clinical assignments, rotation matrices, and calendars are completed on time
  • Monitors faculty compliance with clinical rotation policies and guidelines
  • Reviews student learning materials on an ongoing basis
  • Ensures student records are properly maintained according to policy
  • Submits required program reports and forms to the Director in a timely manner
  • Stays current with new technologies and safety regulations
  • Provides advising and planning support to potential students
  • Ensures students meet all graduation and state licensing exam requirements
  • Teaches theory or clinical courses approximately half of the time
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid, current, and active Registered Nurse license in the state of application
  • Baccalaureate degree from an approved school
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least 1 year in teaching or clinical supervision in an approved nursing program within the last 5 years (or 3 years in nursing administration or education within the last 5 years)
  • Completed courses in teaching, curriculum development, and administration from an approved school

Qualifications
