About the role
The Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Science with a focus on user interface and user experience (UI/UX).
Responsibilities
- Push the boundaries of next-generation design and user experience, leveraging innovative approaches to enhance interaction, usability, and engagement.
- Connect information with design to drive meaningful user experience advancements.
- Incorporate principles of usability engineering and ethical considerations of emerging technologies into teaching and research.
Requirements
- An earned doctorate (or terminal degree) in UI/UX, HCI, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Information Science or a related field at the time of appointment.
- Demonstrate evidence of effective teaching, research, and scholarship with experience/expertise in the broad area of user interface and user experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with industry experience in usability testing, software engineering, or development processes, particularly in UX/UI Design, Service Design, or Systems Design.
