About the role

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rice University seeks a tenure-track faculty member specializing in experimental quantum science using atomic, molecular, or optical methods. The ideal candidate will complement and expand existing quantum activities within the department and across the university.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an independent and vigorous research program in experimental quantum science
  • Teach, on average, one undergraduate or graduate course each semester
  • Contribute to the service missions of the Department and University

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in physics or a related field by December 31, 2022

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellence in research and teaching, as well as the potential for leadership in their field.

Skills

Strong skills in experimental quantum science using atomic, molecular, or optical methods are essential.
