About the role
This position is a full-time, one-year, non-tenure track eligible teaching appointment with the possibility of renewal. The Assistant Professor of Advanced Legal Research will be expected to teach legal writing and research courses, as well as other courses as may be assigned according to the needs of the College.
Responsibilities
- Teach legal writing and research courses
- Teach advanced legal research courses
- Teach appellate advocacy courses
- Teach subject matter and skill-based courses on the use of Westlaw and Lexis Nexus
- Teach other digital libraries utilized in legal research
- Liaison with university library representatives regarding the required available library resources necessary to support the law school curriculum and student learning
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate
- California Bar License in good standing
- Graduated from an state or ABA accredited law school
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior law school teaching
- Motion/brief/research/appellate practice experience
- Experience using Westlaw and Lexis Nexus and California practice materials
