About the role
The Department of Political Science at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a Full-Time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Public Administration starting in Fall 2027.
Responsibilities
- Teach three courses per semester
- Engage in research/scholarly activities
- Participate in service activities such as program and curriculum development, in-person and online course development, and student recruitment and engagement
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in public administration, public policy, or public affairs from an accredited institution of higher education. ABD candidates will be considered but must have a PhD by the start date (August 2027).
- Demonstrated evidence of the ability and desire to teach undergraduate (in-person and/or online) and graduate (online) courses in at least two of the following areas: Public Administration and Management, Human Resource Management, or Ethics. The ability to teach Public Policy at the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred.
- Demonstrated evidence of an established or emerging research agenda in at least one of the following areas: Public Administration and Management, Human Resource Management, or Ethics.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, as evidenced by application materials.
