Job Summary
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology in the Department of Pediatrics, at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor who will serve as a Pediatric Pulmonologist.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in pediatric pulmonology in an effort to improve quality, safety and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in assigned clinical duties with other faculty in the division. This includes but is not limited to, call duties and providing coverage on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Meet all metrics associated with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE).
- Become increasingly productive through the provision of clinical services in the Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia and outpatient clinics.
- Maintain productivity targets as set forth by the department chair and MCG Dean's Office through clinical services provided.
- Promote good professional relationships and build referral patterns with Wellstar MCG physicians and physicians outside of Wellstar MCG.
- Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO degree or foreign equivalent with Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
- Successfully completed 72 months of training (including 36 months of pediatric residency as well as 36 months of pediatric pulmonology).
- Eligible for a Georgia medical license, federal DEA, and board certified or board eligible in pediatric pulmonology.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Assistant Professor-Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class.
