Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing curriculum development, implementation and evaluation of classroom and clinical instruction.
- Participate in student advising and registration.
- Full and active participation in NYSCAS BSN Nursing Program committees.
- Demonstrate professional integrity and commitment to professional nursing.
- Be available for counseling and advising students, and participate in academic environment activities.
- Maintain assigned course load and contact hours as per the Director of the Program.
- Attend faculty meetings, college and departmental functions, and informational sessions.
- Maintain punctuality and attendance to meet teaching commitments.
- Make up any missed classes/clinical sessions.
- Post office hours and be available for appointments outside office hours.
- Inform students of mid-term and end-term progress during advisement meetings.
Administrative and Clerical Requirements
- A course outline (syllabus) for every course must be filed with the Director, including detailed objectives, topics, requirements, assignments, test dates, and evaluation criteria.
- Rosters provided by the Office of the Registrar should be carefully reviewed and discrepancies reported.
- Submit all final grades to the Registrar in a timely manner.
- Manage clinical courses as Course Coordinators, including curriculum planning, syllabus development, instructor communication, and facility correspondence.
- Participate in committees, preparing, writing, and editing accreditation reports, candidacy drafts, and self-study reports to accreditors and state education/experience qualifications.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Nursing Science preferred.
- Minimum MS/MA in Nursing from an accredited institution required.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification preferred.
- Unencumbered NY State Professional RN license.
- Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer or Health Provider by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical practice experience, preferably in medical-surgical nursing, telemetry, emergency nursing, psychiatry, obstetrics, and critical care.
Pay
Maximum Salary: USD $115,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary: USD $92,000.00/Yr.
