Assistant Professor of Nursing

About the role

This full-time Clinical Faculty and/or Assistant Professor of Nursing position is responsible for the education and development of undergraduate nursing students. The primary purpose is to support students in acquiring the knowledge, clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and professional attitudes essential for safe and effective nursing practice. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student success, clinical excellence, and the mission of Saint Peter’s University.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and/or supervise students in clinical settings
  • Coordinate clinical learning experiences
  • Facilitate simulation laboratory instruction
  • Provide classroom and online instruction
  • Provide timely feedback and maintain academic standards
  • Contribute to a student-centered learning environment aligned with the mission of the University

  • Pharmacology
  • Health Assessment
  • Pathophysiology
  • Community Nursing
  • Nursing Theory
  • Psychiatric Mental Health
  • Pediatric Nursing/Child Health Nursing
  • Med-Surge

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a major in Nursing from a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission on Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited program
  • Current, unencumbered RN license
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical and didactic teaching expertise
  • Demonstrated expertise in the course subject area
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to excellence in bachelor-level teaching and student engagement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (DNP, PhD, EdD) in Nursing
  • Bachelor-level teaching experience
  • Experience teaching in an online or hybrid learning environment
  • Advanced practice certification (if applicable)

Pay

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $84,000.00
