Assistant Professor of Instruction, College of Nursing

About the role

The College of Nursing at Xavier University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The successful candidate will teach across undergraduate and graduate programs, with desired specialty areas in pediatrics and MSN core courses. Teaching experience in online instruction is desired.

Responsibilities

• Teach across undergraduate and graduate programs
• Develop and evaluate curriculum, course content, clinical experiences, test construction, and assessment of students’ learning
• Establish effective coordinating relationships with co-workers and clinical agencies
• Participate in nursing scholarly work and professional development
• Participate in student academic advising and guidance
• Participate in appropriate program, college, and university activities and committees

Requirements

• Current and unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Ohio or eligibility to be licensed and practice in Ohio
• A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field is required for teaching in the graduate programs
• At least 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in a specialty area (pediatrics preferred)
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in an accredited program in a content-specialty area is preferred
• Teaching experience in online instruction is desired
• Knowledge of curriculum development, methods of teaching, and evaluation are desired
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team
