About the role

The John E. Simon School of Business at Maryville University (St. Louis) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Finance for the 2026-2027 academic year. We seek a dynamic individual who will work on campus and contribute to our forward-thinking, student-centered business programs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance, including but not limited to Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Markets, and related electives.
  • Advise and mentor students on academic progress, career planning, and research projects.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to research initiatives within the field of Finance.
  • Participate in service to the department, university, and broader academic and professional communities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement and assessment of Finance programs.
  • Engage with the business community to enhance experiential learning and internship opportunities for students.
  • Act as a point of contact and help develop deeper relationships with part-time faculty.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: PhD or DBA in Finance or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered if degree is conferred by August 2026).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Ability to work on campus and engage in face-to-face instruction and service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience in the finance industry or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CFP).
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology-enhanced learning.
