The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics in the School of Public Health.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in epidemiology and/or public health
- Conduct scholarly work
- Obtain extramural funding
Requirements
- PhD in epidemiology or similar field (public health)
- Post-doc experience preferred
- Teaching ability preferred
- Strong record of independent and competitively funded research
- Strong record of scholarly publications
- Service with graduate student committees preferred
- Expertise in spatial and/or chronic disease epidemiology (particularly heart disease and cancer) preferred
Qualifications
- Solid methodological background in epidemiology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interest in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate, Masters and PhD degree-seeking graduate students
- Ability to collaborate with research investigators in public health and/or related fields of study
Skills
- Expertise in spatial and/or chronic disease epidemiology (particularly heart disease and cancer) preferred
