Assistant Professor of English

About the role

The tenure-track assistant professor of English teaches 12 hours per semester in Freshman composition, world literature and/or upper-level courses related to his/her specialty.

Responsibilities

• Teaches 12 hours per semester in Freshman composition, world literature and/or upper-level courses related to his/her specialty.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and as a team member.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and meticulous in performing job duties.
• Must have desire in scholarly research.
• Must be willing to advise students, converse with students and listen patiently to students.

Requirements

• An earned Ph.D. in English is required.
• Excellence in teaching, research and service are expected.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate should be qualified to teach English literature of all periods and professional writing.
