Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity and Policy

About the role

The position is a joint appointment in the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, and the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, with responsibilities including teaching Computer Science and Diplomacy and International Relations courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in computer science related to cybersecurity
• Teach courses in government policy related to cyber security, information security, and cyber warfare
• Teach modern statistical research methods/data analysis
• Contribute to degree programs in cybersecurity and international and homeland security
• Help launch a new curriculum in security and conflict analysis

Requirements

• Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment, either in computer science, computer engineering, or cybersecurity with academic training in public policy or extensive policy experience; or political science or a related discipline with academic computer science training or extensive technical experience
• Demonstrate potential to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels
• Show strong research background or substantial potential for conducting important academic research in field of specialization
