About the role

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member for a full-time position starting in the fall semester of 2026. The position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, Alaska.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Construction Management, including supervision, project management, building codes, site surveying, civil engineering concepts, commercial construction techniques, and sustainable building principles.
  • Develop and deliver online courses using appropriate technology such as BIM and construction scheduling software.
  • Engage in community business outreach and demonstrate experience with circumpolar construction conditions.
  • Contribute to scholarly activities and maintain a commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Work effectively with a diverse student body and community stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience in Construction Management or a construction-related position.
  • Experience with circumpolar construction conditions and techniques.
  • Two (2) semesters of teaching experience at the college level or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the construction process, procedures, project controls, and industry.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and evidence of scholarly/creative activity.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body and community stakeholders.

Skills

  • Experience with online course development.
  • Outstanding teaching skills and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
