Essential Job Functions

  • Provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Section of Transplant Surgery.
  • Focus on kidney/pancreas transplant surgery.
  • Provide direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients.
  • Participate in all teaching activities of the Department, including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching and rounds; house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics, and in-patient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings.
  • Supervise and evaluate residents, provide medical direction, and participate in committee memberships at the departmental and health system level.
  • Advance clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts, participating in either basic research (laboratory) or clinical research and publishing scientific articles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved medical school.
  • Completed an approved residency training program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Transplant Surgery.
  • Texas Medical license without restrictions.
