About the role
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member.
Responsibilities
- Candidates must have an MD/OD, be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology, and licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida.
- Candidates will be at the professor level of the clinical educator track.
- Deliver excellent patient care.
- Teach fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Develop and participate in original research for which extramural funding should be sought.
- Contribute to the Division's research related to nephrotic syndrome/FSGS, proteinuria, SLE nephritis, hypertension, oligonephropathy of prematurity, obstructive uropathy, HIV nephropathy.
Requirements
- MD/OD degree
- Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida
- Professor level of the clinical educator track
- Strong interest in clinical and/or translational research
- Demonstrated clinical and scholarly expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Efficient and independent work ability
- Fluency in Spanish, Creole, and/or French (desired)
Qualifications
- Active programs in dialysis providing all modalities of renal replacement therapy
- Integration with the Miami Transplant Institute and active transplant program including kidney, liver, and multivisceral transplants
- A Comprehensive Children’s Kidney Failure Center following a large number of children with all stages of CKD
- A CAGME-approved Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program with 3 clinical fellows
