Assistant Professor of Clinical - Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (MTI)

Summary Of Job Responsibilities

Physician will work with the other pulmonology transplant physicians in the Division of Pulmonology with responsibilities including:

• Providing direct patient care to adult outpatients in the Miami Transplant Institute faculty practice (including satellite clinics)
• Providing direct inpatient care to adult patients at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospital
• Participating in Critical Care rotation providing 24/7 coverage for direct inpatient care to adult patients, including pre- and post-cardiothoracic transplant, LVAD, ECMO, and Cardiac Surgery Patients
• Clinically collaborating with transplant team – Cardiology, Pulmonology Surgeons, and any other patient consultants
• Attending multidisciplinary transplant conferences and rounds
• Precepting trainees in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Participating in medical student, resident and fellow education

Qualifications

• Awarded degree of M.D. or D.O. from an ABIM recognized internal medicine residency
• Valid ABIM Certification in Pulmonology
• Valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply
• Maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
• Excellent clinical knowledge and experience, especially in transplant nephrology, to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, patients, and family members
• Demonstrate the ability to meet responsibilities of the position
• Specialized training in transplant pulmonology after fellowship highly desired
• Experience working and teaching in academic setting highly desired
