General Purpose
Teach undergraduate courses (labs and lectures) in Biochemistry I and II and specialized courses in the area of expertise (e.g. Forensic chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biochemistry for Life Sciences).
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses (labs and lectures) in Biochemistry I and II and specialized courses in the area of expertise (e.g. Forensic chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biochemistry for Life Sciences).
- Teaching graduate courses supporting MS and PhD programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry as well as the interdisciplinary programs in Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) and Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE).
- Maintain a vigorous, creative, externally funded research program.
- Mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students in the research environment.
- Actively participate on Departmental, School and University committees.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials (or related areas).
- One year teaching in an undergraduate university setting.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to teaching and research excellence.
- Expertise in the broadly defined areas of biochemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, biomaterials, and related areas.
- Experience in applied sciences, such as pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemistry or food chemistry.
Skills
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Biochemistry, Forensics, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or Food Chemistry.
- Ability to mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research environments.
- Ability to organize symposia, review manuscripts and research proposals, and lead in the professional community.
Pay
USD $75,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
Schedule
Full time tenure-track faculty position starting in August 2026.
