Assistant Professor of Anthropology
Duties And Responsibilities
Teaching: Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate level classes, both required foundational courses and courses in the special interests of the candidate. Participation in the First Year Experience program is highly encouraged. The teaching load is 3-2 with course sizes of approximately 12-24 students.
Research: Consistent and productive scholarly activity, including original research, attendance at conferences or other professional events, and publication of research.
Service: Advising majors, service to the department, university, profession, and community.
Qualifications
EDUCATION Required: PhD in Anthropology by July 2027 Preferred: Graduate coursework in cultural anthropology, with a research specialization in environmental anthropology
Experience Required: Some teaching experience at the undergraduate level Preferred: Sole-taught courses
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level Demonstrated commitment to Trinity University’s liberal arts mission Relevant Research and/or Peer-reviewed Publication, demonstrating consistent research pipeline, robust methods and substantive engagement with theory Relevant graduate coursework in Cultural Anthropology with a specialization in Environmental Anthropology A demonstrated commitment to Trinity’s value of intentional inclusion A willingness to support the goals of the Pathways general education curriculum
