Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering

About the Department

With over 3,000 students, the Mechanical Engineering department at the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET) is the largest in the college and ranks among the largest in the nation. It offers undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, an MS in Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering. Distinguished faculty lead groundbreaking research and foster an environment where students engage in hands-on, project-based learning. Students benefit from extensive undergraduate research, a job-ready curriculum, and state-of-the-art laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate aerospace engineering courses.
• Developing and maintaining an active and externally funded research program.
• Engaging in department, college, university, and professional services appropriate to the position.
• Advancing the goals and strategic plan of KSU.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Requirements

• An earned Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in aerospace engineering or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postdoctoral training
• Industrial experience
• Strong publication record
• Grant proposal experience
• Prior teaching experience
